Proposed Fred Emerson Library Annex

FOCL is excited to announce our proposed Library Annex to potentially be built in La Entrada Park.  This project has been in the works since 2018 when FOCL first received an extremely generous estate donation from long-time library patron, the late Mr. Fred Emerson. We are very grateful to him and his family.  Since that time, we have continued to talk with patrons, staff, volunteers and Village government about how we can best serve the library with a new structure that will serve our community for years to come.  With "The Annex," we hope to add a book donation intake and storage center, a small used bookstore and free book exchange, storage space for tables and chairs that can be used for outdoor library or community nonprofit programming, a digital device charging station, a concession window, and a public restroom.  We also hope to provide attractive bistro-style seating around the building to serve those looking to enjoy a beautiful spot to enjoy a book, take advantage of the library's new powerful wi-fi (thank you Director Marian Frear), meet with a friend, or take an outdoor class.
